The electric power steering system utilizes the power generated by the electric motor to help the driver perform steering operations. Thesystem consists of three main parts, the signal sensing device, the steering assist mechanism and the electronic control device. Theelectric motor works only when the power is needed, when the driver manipulates the steering wheel, the torque angle sensor generatesthe corresponding voltage signal according to the input torque and the size of the steering angle, the speed sensor detects the speedsignal, and the control unit gives the instruction to control the electric motor according to the signals of the voltage and the speed togenerate the needed steering power.
